PGA National Hosts Women's Cancer Awareness Day PGA National Scores Big with the Third Annual Women's Cancer Awareness Day Event -- Event proceeds to benefit the Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center at Jupiter Medical Center
PGA National's 3rd Annual Cancer Awareness Day Women's Cancer Awareness Day event was hosted on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. An action-packed schedule featured golf (9 and 18 holes), tennis, bridge, marjoong, croquet tournaments, and a celebration luncheon. The proceeds of this event benefited Jupiter Medical Center's Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center and the Daniel E. Searle Clinical Trials Access Program. Last year's event netted $70,000 for this important community oncology program, which provides cancer patients access to approximately 50 clinical research studies. Members of CAD Committee at PGA National who coordinated this event are extremely pleased with the event's success and purpose. "Since many of our members have been touched by cancer, we are so proud to host an event that promotes cancer awareness and supports cancer research, right in our own back yard," stated Elaine Solomon, who is co-chaired the event for the third consecutive year, along with co-chairs Barbara Chapin and Barbara Sedransk.
Thank you to all for coming and supporting such a worthwhile cause & we hope you enjoyed the day. A special thanks to Laurie Nugent and Travis Thomson at Waterfront Properties & Club Communities who worked so hard at the photography and putting this website together. It was our privilege to do it for you!
